Check out the Hōtaka for the 2018 ITP Research Symposium

The countdown is on to the start of Ka Rewa Māori Innovation: 2018 ITP Research Symposium, which Unitec is hosting on 10-11 July. The Hōtaka/official programme celebrates and showcases Māori innovation at a local, national and international level. It offers a wealth of impressive speakers and topics, including many of our own Unitec  experts.

Keynote speakers include Mr Panapa Ehau from Hikurangi Enterprise and Keith Ikin, Chief Executive of Māori Television. The Symposium dinner on Tuesday night will feature entertainment from Te Orowai and performances from Hoani Waititi Kapa Haka.

On day two, delegates will choose from tours to Tech Futures Lab, Te Puea Marae or Māori Television.

Kaihautū and chair of the organising committee TeUrikore Biddle said: “Māori have been recognised as amongst the most entrepreneurial people globally. In 2010, the total value of the asset base of Māori enterprises was estimated at $36.9 billion. Connectivity between New Zealand TEOs and Māori businesses and corporations has not been strong in the past. This Symposium is a great opportunity for the ITP sector to strengthen this connection.”

There are still spaces available so check out the programme and book nowThe registration fee is heavily subsidised for Unitec staff and is exempt from the freeze on external professional development.
