We’re hosting the 2018 ITP Māori Innovation Symposium at our Mt Albert campus on 10-11 July and registrations are now open. The Symposium will bring educators, businesses and researchers together to discuss the connections between their work, with a focus on the needs of the Māori economy.

Organising Committee Chair, TeUrikore Biddle, wants to make sure that Unitec staff are well represented at the event. She said:Although the symposium is Māori-centred, the ideas that will be explored will be applicable to everyone working in the ITP sector. Ka Rewa will provide a great opportunity for our staff to talk about their research ideas with members of the Māori community who share similar interests, which may in turn spark ideas for future research partnerships.”

The event organisers hope that this year’s Symposium will help to nurture innovation in Māori tertiary students; inspire staff to incorporate Māori innovation stories into teaching, learning and research contexts; and build useful partnerships between Māori innovators, businesses and ITPs.

You can find out more, including how to register, here. Or you can get in touch with Event Coordinator Shaughan Woodcock directly if you have any questions.
