I’m pleased to invite you to provide feedback on the proposed Moderation Policy and Procedure, and associated report templates, planned for implementation across Manukau Institute of Technology and Unitec from July 2026.
This mahi is part of our ongoing work to strengthen academic quality, ensure consistency across programme areas, and support equitable outcomes for our students.
We encourage all staff involved in learning, teaching, and assessment to provide feedback. You can participate in the way that suits you best:

We will host five consultation hui across our campuses and online. You may come to whichever hui best suits you.

Consultation period
Consultation is open from 16 March 2026 to 27 March 2026.
After consultation closes, all feedback will be reviewed and the draft documents amended accordingly. The revised policy and procedure will then be presented to the Academic Committee, with final approval expected on 5 May 2026.
If approved, the new moderation approach will be implemented across Manukau Institute of Technology and Unitec from July 2026.
