Matariki weekend rail closure, including Monday 23rd June

Winter Rail Upgrades – Saturday 28th June to Sunday 13th July 2025
- Following the Matariki Rail Upgrades, and during the winter school holidays from 28th June to 13th July, there will be some partial closures and changes to train services.
- The Southern Line will be closed between Puhinui Station and Pukekohe Station for essential drainage resilience works. Trains will be running but at reduced frequencies on the rest of the Southern Line, the Eastern Line, and the Western Line. The Onehunga Line will retain its all-day 30-minute service during this period.
- The Western Line will be partially closed between New Lynn Station and Swanson Station from Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th July.
- During the Winter Rail Upgrades, rail replacement buses, including an express service will serve closed parts of the Southern Line as we do our best to keep passengers moving. A Rail Bus West (RBW) will serve parts of the Western Line during 12th to 13th July.
