Unitec and MIT are moving away from the regional leadership structure that was put in place as part of Te Pūkenga.
Peseta Sam will continue as Executive Director of Unitec and MIT.
While this is a natural part of our organisations transitioning from the national network and towards a future which includes the potential for independent, regionally-based providers of vocational education and training, it is fitting that we acknowledge the co-leadership of Toa and Peseta while clearing space for what is to come.
All Tāmaki Makaurau kaimahi are invited to join us for whakawātea on Thursday 19 June at the following times and locations:
Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae, Unitec
9am – 10.30am
Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae, MIT
1pm – 3pm
It is important kaimahi understand our organisations remain committed to ensuring the partnerships between Māori and our providers are upheld as we move forward with transition.
To this end, please be reassured that discussions are already well advanced on the most appropriate leadership arrangement for Tāmaki to reflect our commitment to Te Tiriti and our values. Peseta will be sharing more on this with kaimahi soon.
