We know everyone is deep into Semester 2 getting ākonga settled, achieving in class and making sure they have the support they need.
When we’re in the thick of things, it helps to be able to look ahead to a relaxing break over holiday time. I am sure many of us are looking forward to the sunshine and whānau time!
We will again be observing our annual year-end closedown.
End of Year closedown dates:
Thursday 19 December 2024-Tuesday 7 January 2025 | All kaimahi
Your last day of work is Wednesday 18 December 2024 and your first day back to work is Wednesday 8 January 2025.
All kaimahi will be expected to take annual leave over this period, please enter your leave before Monday, 30 September. We will follow up in October with those who have yet to submit their leave.
Exemptions
All closedown leave exemptions must be approved by the relevant Senior Leadership Team member for your area. Exemptions will not be granted to those that have greater than 30 days’ worth of Annual Leave.
For those with approved exemptions, it will not be for the full closedown – it is important that everyone gets a break during the holiday season so you will not be expected to work the full closedown.
Exemptions will only be approved for critical services or scheduled teaching and learning activity. Your manager will speak to you if your area is a critical service, and you are required to work for part of the closedown.
Without an exemption approval you are not to be working during the closedown.
If you have a high annual leave balance of 30+ days, your manager will be in touch to work towards a plan for reducing this. Making sure there are enough kaimahi available to continue delivering core functions is part of the planning process.
Access to any campus during the closedown
Only approved kaimahi will be on campus during the closedown period.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please discuss this with your manager.
