Te Puna Waiora has been without a doctor since May 2023. Despite our best efforts to bring on a new doctor, we’ve been unsuccessful due to pressures on the health industry. This means our continuity of clinical care is compromised for our patients, as we cannot provide a full medical services team.
What this means and timing
Unfortunately, our Medical Practice will close on Thursday 30 November 2023. Until then, limited health services will be available to enrolled patients only. All enrolled patients will need to quickly find a new Medical Practice..
Te Puna Waiora Counselling, Mental Health and Chaplaincy Services remain open and available for all students to access.
Who is impacted and how?
Our current enrolled patients have been updated directly with next steps and options. Referrals to Avondale Health Centre and White Cross St Lukes, as well as the provision of Care HQ vouchers will cease on 30 November 2023.
