Update on Te Pūkenga Organisational Design and Change programme

In case you missed it in the latest Ngā Taipitopito newsletter…an update was shared on Te Pūkenga Organisational Design and Change programme (ODC).

Our ODC programme is creating the structural foundation so new business groups can deliver on our strategic intent for how applied learning and vocational education is organised and delivered.

So far, we have confirmed the executive roles that will lead the organisation and moved all polytechnics and work-based learning providers into the whare.

And, on 1 January 2023, we became one entity, Te Pūkenga. Now we are all in the whare, we are committed to continuing our transformation journey by creating our unified structure.

Priority for 2023

You can watch a video of Richard Forgan, our Deputy Chief Executive Strategy and Transformation introducing the ODC Programme here.

Our ODC priority for 2023 is to support our kaimahi (staff), leaders and ākonga (learners) during the remaining phases of our change programme.

This year our programme will focus on three critical themes:  design and change, readiness, and stability.

Design and change sets up the new organisation structure – consulting with people about proposals, making decisions, and recruiting and establishing kaimahi into new positions.

Readiness sets up the tools and resources so when kaimahi arrive in their new roles, they have what they need to do those jobs.

Stability is about keeping the organisation able to deliver a fantastic experience to our ākonga and employers through this change process.

More information about our change programme is coming to Te Whare (Te Pūkenga intranet) soon. This will include regular progress updates and a timeframe for when the change process will get underway in your business area.

If you have any questions or comments about the change programme you can email them to yourvoice@tepukenga.ac.nz. These will be addressed at regular online and face-to-face updates held throughout the year and where appropriate added to these pages to create a resource for all kaimahi.
