Business Case Approval to Develop

Portfolio Leadership Group

Any application for

  • any new programme, Micro-credential, Training Scheme, Short Course or other type of delivery; and
  • any development and change to an existing programme, that requires NZQA approval

requires approval from the Portfolio Leadership Group.

Applications need to be made using the Programme Development Business Case Approval Process and forms attached in the right hand column of this page.

This process applies to all new and existing programme development excluding minor changes to existing provision.

A minor change:

  • has no financial implications
  • can be completed within existing resource
  • is BAU

Programme Development Business Case Approval Process

Step 1. Bright Idea to develop a new or amend an existing academic provision

Step 2. Prepare Approval in Principle Memo – send to PLG via email for circular approval to proceed to Programme Development Business Case

Step 3. Programme Development Business Case prepared for Portfolio Leadership Group – firstly consulting with: TKK, TPA, Finance, Marketing, Industry, Priority Group. Must be emailed to PLG close of business Thursday before Tuesday meeting.

Step 4. Programme Development Business Case presented to ELT for approval to develop
