Proposed amendments to NZQA RulesReleased 3 February 2020 The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to NZQA Rules to reflect the Reforms of Vocational Education (RoVE). These amendments align the Rules with the Education (Vocational Education and Training Reform) Amendment Bill (the Bill) scheduled to be passed on 1 April 2020. Most proposed amendments are technical and reflect the legal status and functions of the new organisations in the Bill. For example, where rules refer to Industry Training Organisations (ITOs) these have been updated to refer to Transitional ITOs. These and similar amendments have been made to the following draft rule sets attached for your consideration:
NZQA welcome comments on the proposed amendments and any other feedback you may wish to make. As the amendments reflect RoVE policy and legislation that has been previously signalled and consulted upon, NZQA are holding a shorter targeted consultation over three weeks.
