Partnerships and Equity virtual hui today from 11am to connect with Taonga Māori Project

Partnerships and Equity provides opportunity to connect with Taonga Māori Project

The Partnerships and Equity (PAE) team continues its series of online hui, Te Turuturu, for all network members to connect and discuss our collective mahi underway across the motu. Deputy Chief Executive Partnerships and Equity Ana Morrison and Kieran Hewitson, Kaikōkiri (Director) of Tiriti Practice, will host the second virtual session on Tuesday 31 May from 11am to 12 noon.

The hui will begin with a brief update on the Taonga Māori Project followed by an open floor where anyone who attends is welcome to ask pātai (questions).

The first Te Turuturu session for PAE took place in mid-May and focused on Te Pae Tawhiti – our Te Tiriti o Waitangi Excellence Framework. It was well attended and great to see a variety of attendees from our wider subsidiary whānau.

FAQs for this session can be found here.

Make sure to lock the upcoming PAE sessions for Te Turuturu into your calendars, e hoa mā, as we welcome the interaction, pātai and feedback:

Where does ‘Te Turuturu’ come from?

Turuturu were pegs that were used by weavers to keep the garment they were working on in place or in a particular position as they progressed their mahi.

Those who passed by could view the garment in development and potentially witness the weaver at work and engage in conversation around the mahi with those involved. PAE encourages network members to view and discuss the important mahi being progressed by the team.

We’re keen for the series to be widely promoted so would appreciate your assistance in sharing this with your colleagues. Thank you for your support and please let me know if you have any questions.

Ngā mihi nui,

Ana Morrison
