Members needed for Appeal Resolution Committee

Unitec’s Academic Committee is looking for senior Academic staff to consider student appeals as and when required. You can learn more about the process here:

Taking part in a committee is a good way to network and is also another skill to add to your CV and ADEP, as an expression of rangatiratanga in your role at Unitec.

Committee members – what we’re looking for

Appeals can be managed with three members, but we’re looking for four or five people to join the committee, which will allow the team to manage a member being unavailable due to leave or a conflict of interest.

Preference is for experienced academics and we’ll be looking for a balance oSchool representation. Training and guidance will be provided.

Members are appointed for one year by Academic Committee but the preference is for applicants to be in a position to make a longer-term commitment.

Expression of Interest

We are now seeking Expressions of Interest for committee members. Please send these to resolutions@unitec.ac.nz  by 26 FebruaryPlease also ensure you have had approval from your line manager about workload before you confirm your interest. It is anticipated that the workload will be infrequent but intensive when an appeal is under consideration for 2 to 3 weeks.

The Academic Committee will appoint Committee Members at its first meeting of the year in 2021.

If you would like more information or have a question, please contact Sue Crossan. Contact scrossan@unitec.ac.nz
