Monday – Friday: 8.00am – 7.00pm

Support Outside of these Hours

If you require support outside of these hours please contact the Help Desk on Ext. 8484 or via email to itsupport@unitec.ac.nz at least 5 working days in advance. We will do our best to arrange after hours support for you. Requests for after hours support without sufficient notice may not be able to be catered for.

Charges:

The following charges may apply depending on the nature of the request:

 Customer  Cost
 Unitec staff member  $70.00 per hour or part thereof
 External user  $140.00 per hour or part thereof

 

Support Services

  • Organising installation and providing projector maintenance (e.g. changing lamps, cleaning filters and hardware faults)
  • Remote management and security of projectors
  • Class and seminar support bookings for internal and external customers (job must be logged with the IT Help Desk)
  • Video Conferencing setup and support for internal and external customers

Room Faults

Please log support requests and faults through the IT Help Desk on extn 8484 (or direct dial 815-2908). We have technicians onsite that are able to solve most problems, if not we will pass them onto our external supplier.

Please contact the Timetabling office at timetabling@unitec.ac.nz  or on ext 8461 for all room bookings.

Unitec’s AV Equipment

Most classrooms and lecture theatres at the Mt Albert and Waitakere campus’s are equipped with AV Equipment. As each lab and theatre is owned by different schools/departments the AV set up will most likely differ.

Most rooms have the following equipment:
– Ceiling Mounted Projector that can display information from the computer
– A computer that is connected to the Unitec Network
– Facility for CD, and USB memory stick
– Sound
– DVD Player

Some rooms may have the following:
– Over Head Projector
– VCR
– Microphone
– Document reader
– Connection for Laptop (if you have a MAC laptop you need to bring an adaptor to convert the connection to VGA for connection to a projector)

If you are intending on using AV equipment in a lab or classroom please either visit the lab or classroom or contact the IT Help Desk on extn 8484 to find out what equipment is available.
